Chandler Driving School Cars

After completing hours of research to find just the right vehicles to conduct Chandler Driving School’s behind-the-wheel driving lessons, we have decided to use only 2012 or newer Honda Civics. We believe this is the right choice when it comes to reliability, fuel economy, ecological footprint, the latest technology, and most importantly, safety. Although these vehicles may be a more expensive choice than other compact sedans, we feel it is well worth the cost. Below is a partial list of the features on the Honda Civics:

Safety Ratings

Five star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTHSA)

TOP SAFETY PICK  and TOP SAFETY PICK + (2013) Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)

The IIHS award recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting vehicle occupants involved in front, side and rear crashes, plus rollover performance. Also, all “TOP SAFETY PICK” vehicles must include a standard electronic stability control system. The Civic earned the highest-possible score in all four ratings, including the more rigorous roof-strength test.

To earn  “TOP SAFETY PICK+”  rating, a vehicle must meet “TOP SAFETY PICK” criteria, plus a good or acceptable rating in the small overlap front test. The 2013 Honda Civic, both 2-door and 4-door, was the only small car to have earned a rating of good.

Body Design

Our Civic has an exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal crashes. This is an additional safety feature we were looking for. The design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

Green Features:

ECO Assist – an innovative and interactive fuel-efficiency coaching technology that has been named to Green Car Journal’s Top 10 Green Car Technology List for 2013. By observing the speedometer’s background color this technology helps drivers develop driving habits that enhance fuel efficiency.

ECON mode – In ECON mode, the Civic’s engine and other energy-consuming systems are automatically configured to operate more efficiently.
